Why "TylerK's Picross" Is Gone
Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 3:59PM Yep, it's gone. A few days ago I received a letter from one of Nintendo's attorneys stating that my use of the term "Picross" was in violation of several of their copyrights. They had no problem with me calling the game anything else but that, and even suggested I use the more generic, less infringing term "nonograms" as a suitable replacement. I'd be fine with doing that... if I hadn't lost the source files for the game years ago. So since I can't take the word out of the game, the entire game has to come down.
Meanwhile, lots of music stuff going on. Right now I'm mixing a 5 song EP and by the time that's done we'll be ready to start recording a full length. It's looking like it's going to be 13 - 15 songs.

hey man.. you should be able to use sothink swf decompiler to get your source back. Only thing is, it's $80. Maybe you can find someone on a flash developer's forum that has it and can do it for you.
Dang, that sucks. I loved that Picross game. D=
Nice to hear about the music though. My brothers love your songs, as do I. XD
Oh man, nintendo sucks.
No wonder I couldn't find the game again. It's really a shame, your picross was the best implementation out there (on nearly all others, you either can't "try-mark" or it counts as an error, or you always have to click an extra button to switch between Xes and markings, also all other ones are big and flashy)
Maybe it would suffice to open the swf with a hex editor and search for the string? I dunno how flash handles that, but you can sometimes change some text with this method in normal programs.
I just wonder why nintendo diddn't bawl over all the other picross-titled games out there. Or the mario ones for that matter.
Hello, TylerK. I was just wondering if there is an extended verision to your song Woolgathering. Me and my friends listen to it at least 5 times a day. It makes us really happy and in the mood for everything. We love woolgathering. If you would have something like that laying around would you send me a mail?
Thx!
